Stages of one brief
These stages describe a procurement sequence. They are not a company history, a plant opening or a count of completed jobs. A later stage can still ask for the primary frame, purlin and girt spacing, the foundation interface and whether the enclosure is an insulated metal panel.

01 Brief intake
The buyer names use, footprint and whether the building is permanent, relocatable or temporary. Missing geometry stays marked as open.

02 Criteria request
Wind, snow, seismic and the authority having jurisdiction are requested from the project side. This desk does not invent a code path.

03 Supplier questions
Alternative producers are asked for the system, the scope boundary and the documents that apply to that system. Replies that skip exclusions go back.

04 Side-by-side read
Included, excluded, optional and substituted lines are marked before price is discussed. The buyer keeps the acceptance decision.
What this desk will and will not do
Write the comparison fields
Use, dimensions, loads, jurisdiction, quantity and destination are the minimum set passed to suppliers.
Separate scope labels
Shell, delivered, installed and turnkey stay labeled so totals are not mixed.
Pass document requests
Calculations, coating data and weld references are requested for the quoted system only.
Carry buyer preferences
A budget with currency and a supplier preference are notes. They are not a rating and not a price already in hand.
Leave engineering judgment
Member sizes, foundation design and code acceptance remain with the supplier and the buyer team.
